The latest deficit forecast
The US Congressional Budget Office forecasts at FY2020 budget deficit of $1.015 trillion, falling to $1.0 trillion in FY2021.
The forecast includes GDP growth of 2.2% this year and 1.8% next year. Over the next decade the average is 1.7%.
By the end of 2030, debt is expected to climb to $31.4 trillion.
