US DATA: December TICS data show foreign residents were net sellers of
US long-term securities to the tune of $21.0 bn but at the same time, US
residents sold a record high $38.9 bn of foreign securities, (perhaps
year-end portfolio shifts?), for a net foreign purchase of US securities
of $17.9bn. Within the foreign flows, private individuals sold $11.5 bn
and official institutions sold $9.5 bn.
Monthly net TIC flows were $87.1 bn.

OPEC +$1.5 bn, Caribb. -$10.5 bn, HK +$6.7 bn, Lux +$9.1 bn, Thailand
