expectations of 355k and highest since Jan. 28 wk (381k). Claims in the
Mar 31 wk revised up to 367k vs 357k originally. Labor Dept analyst says
nothing unexpected’ in the state data. Only U.S. Virgin Islands
estimated. Seasonal factors expected NSA claims to rise 15.5% but actual
NSA claims increase was 62,530 (19.6%) to 381,875. 4-wk moving avg
+4,250 to 368,500 in Apr 7 wk, highest since Mar. 17 wk. Cont. claims
-98k to 3.251m in Mar 31 week, low since Jul. 19, 2008 wk. Cont claims
NSA -187,712 to 3,448,994.
