US DATA: Oct new homes sales +1.3% to 307k, slightly below the 310k
rate expected and following downward revisions to each of the last three
months totaling a net 15k downward revision. Sales were flat in the NE
and -9.5% in the South, but were +22.2% in the MW and +14.9% in the
West. Supply of new homes for sale were flat at a tied record low 162,
while the months supply fell to 6.3 months at the current sales rate in
Oct from 6.4 months in Sept due to rise in sales. The median sales price
fell 0.5% to $212,300. The data still reflect a weak housing market.
