US DATA: Redbook for Nov 12 wk: “Veterans Day promotions helped to
lift traffic and sales in the week. Most retailers said they were
satisfied with the progression of this closely watched month, which is
expected to strengthen gradually into the Thanksgiving Day weekend.
Holiday merchandise has already been displayed in stores as retailers
are promoting earlier than ever. Many retailers announced extending
shopping hours, competitive price-matching and lay-away programs in
order to jumpstart the weekend madness.”
