US DATA: wk 14-Apr ICSC-Goldman Store Sales: “It was light volume
for sales during this past week, which included the post-Easter period.
The ICSC-GS weekly chain store sales index fell by 1.0%, which was its
first sequential decline in three weeks. Abnormally cool temperatures
added to the chill for the week and held back clothing demand. The
ICSC-GS consumer tracking survey found that consumers were shopping
more at grocery stores, but business was weaker at wholesale clubs and
apparel stores during the week. Over the past week, temperatures turned
cooler for the nation.”
