According to a report by the Wall St Journal

And the trade dispute continues... A report by the WSJ says that the US is unwilling to meet up for trade talks with China until Beijing comes up with a concrete proposal to address complaints by Washington on economic issues.

Talks between the two have stalled since last month and doesn't look like they're going to be making any significant progress ahead of the US midterms. We've already seen tariffs being thrown about but the trade war here looks set to be one that will last for quite a while, possibly stretching to a few years if this year is any indication to go by.

This doesn't bode well for Trump and Xi's meeting at the end of next month and given that groundwork talks are already lacking, it's not expected that any meeting between the two at this juncture would resolve anything really.

Oh well. Fight away, then.
