The US State Department says that all employees are expected report to work next week despite the government shutdown. HMMMMM

Apparently the State Department is taking steps to make additional funds available to pay employees during shutdown and added that it will review whether it can continue to pay staff beyond the upcoming pay period.

Rumor is Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has been having bake sales and selling hotel shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap that he's been accumulating from his international travels to help fund the gap. ; )

How all the accounting works, I don't know, but they could be robbing Peter to pay Paul.
