S&P 500 futures up 10.7 points
The US stock market is poised for a modest rebound after a rout Monday. The S&P 500 fell just shy of 50 points yesterday.
The bounce is looking like it could be something of the dead-cat variety. European stocks are also modestly higher but the DAX is in mildly negative territory (but well off the lows).
The problem with a 10-11 point gain is that it doesn't leave much room for jitters. If some selling hits shortly after the open, it can quickly become a cascade.
