US stocks are taking the shutdown in stride. Little changed in early trade.

The major indices are mixed

The US stocks are open and the first 15 minutes are showing that they are taking the government shut down in stride.  The major indices are mixed:

  • The S&P index is unchanged at 2810.22
  • The NASDAQ composite index is up 6 points or 0.08% at 7342.09
  • The Dow industrial average is down 31 points or -0.12% at 26039.20
Some winner in early trading:
  • Netflix up 1.09%
  • Deutsche Bank up 2.9%
  • First Solar up 1.09%
  • Gilead up 1.07%
  • Goldman Sachs of 0.8%
  • Facebook of 0.5%
  • Disney of 0.41%
  • Tesla of 0.33%
  • Amazon of 0.4%
Some losers on the day:
  • Apple -0.62%
  • Nvidia -0.35%
  • Alibaba -0.79%
  • Intuitive Surgical -0.51%
  • Twitter -0.97%
  • Celgene -1.63%.  They bought Juno today.
  • Boeing -0.74%
  • Caterpillar -0.58%
  • Micron -0.89%
  • AMD -0.83%
  • Morgan Stanley -1.08%
  • Delta Airlines -0.77%
  • Continental Airlines -1.25%
