Tesla up 10.99% after Musk tweets.
The US major stock indices are ending higher on the day:
- The S&P rose 8.05 points or 0.28% at 2858.45. The high reached 2863.43. The low fell to 2855.92. The all time high for the S&P is getting closer. It is up at 2872.87 The price could not quite get there today
- The Nasdaq rose 23.986 points or +0.31% at 7883.66. The high reached 7898.20. The low reached 7868.64
- The Dow rose 126.73 points or 0.50% at 25628.91.
That is all well and good but today will be remembered for the Elon Musk tweets say he is considering taking Tesla private at $420 and the funding was secured. Tesla shares closed up $37.57 or 10.99% at $379.57. Who knows what is true and not true but if you can pump up your stock by 10.99% with a tweet, that is the ultimate power play.
Everyone should do what Musk does ; ) SMH.
