US stocks end the day mixed, the week higher and month higher

A look at some of the numbers for the major stock indices

On the day, the US major indices are ending the day mixed with the Nasdaq up 0.26%. The S&P unchanged. The Dow was down. Canada's S&P/TSX Composite index was a loser today, falling -0.67% after the failure in reaching a NAFTA agreement.

For the week, the Nasdaq led all the major indices with a 2.06% gain for the week. The biggest loser for the week was the Italy's FTSE MIB a -2.28%.

For the month the Dow and S&P posted the best gains since August 2014. The Nasdaq surged by 5.71%
