US stocks end the session with impressive gains

Each of the major indices are up over 1% today

The US indices cheered a less damaging hurricane Irma and no weekend missile launch out of N. Korea.

• The S&P is ending the session up 1.08% or 26.65 points to 2488
• The Nasdaq is ending up 72 points or 1.13% to 6432
• The Dow is ending up 259 points or 1.19% to 22056

The S&P close is a record high close.

European stocks also had good results. Below is the point and % changes for some of the major indices in Europe and the US today.The German Dax led the charge up 1.39%. The Canada S&P/TSX composite index lagged at +0.36%.
