Nasdaq and S&P end higher
The major indices are ending the session higher. The Nasdaq and S&P closed higherc omfortably, but the Dow was able to only squeak out a gain, as it was hurt by a -1.11% decline in Boeing and a -1.11% decline in UnitedHealth. Boeing has the largest weight in the Dow (9.57% is the % weight in the index), and UnitedHealth has the next highest weight (it has a 6.45% weight). With both stocks lower today, they drag down the overall index, but the other gainers were able to negate the moves in the two largest weighted stocks
The final numbers are showing:
- S&P index is ending up points at 10.01 points or 0.35% at 2888.21.
- Nasdaq index closed up 54.96 points or 0.69% at 7964.24.
- The Dow squeked out a 6.58 point or 0.03% gain at 26157.16.
