Futures higher

S&P 500 futures are up 14 points after a 34 point decline on Thursday. The gains come after Trump told reporters late yesterday that he expects the US-China trade war to end quickly.

This is the ebb and flow of the trade war but I worry that the long weekend will inspire some selling as investors take some risk off the table.

There is some chatter about China imposing quotas on rare earth elements as a retaliatory measure against the US but the source is dubious. If it's confirmed that might add some selling pressure.
