US trade deficit plunges to $38.7 bln in Oct from $44.6 bln

Exports rose 3.2% and imports slumped 0.5%.

Import prices rose 1.3% in November, hotter than the expected 0.8%.

Canada’s trade deficit narrowed to C$1.7 bln in October from C$ 2.3 bln in September.
