What's coming up
The earnings season continues with a few beats including Twitter and Coca-Cola. Some companies have raised their guidance for the year in the past week including:
- P&G
- Lockheed
- UTX
- United Health
- J&J
- Honeywell
Earnings will continue to be a driver this week but economic data is also going to be a point of emphasis today. Up first is Canadian wholesale sales at the bottom of the hour. Tomorrow is the BOC meeting so this is one of the final things for Poloz to consider.
US data focuses on housing with the FHFA house price report at 1300 GMT (9 am ET) and new home sales an hour later. The Richmond Fed is also at 1400 GMT.
For Europe, the UK parliament returns from its Easter recess and the April advance eurozone consumer confidence report is out at 1400 GMT.
