Shelton may be the nominee for Fed board

The failures of Herman Cain and Stephen Moore in the Fed process have pushed a fresh round of names into the mix.

One of them is Judy Shelton, according to a Bloomberg report.

She is currently the US executive director for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and has a Ph.D. in business admin from the University of Utah.

In April she wrote 'The Case for Monetary Regime Change' in WSJ (read it here). It argues for the gold standard but makes a soft argument.

" It's entirely reasonable to ask whether this might be better assured by linking the supply of money and credit to gold or some other reference point as opposed to relying on the judgment of a dozen or so monetary officials meeting eight times a year to set interest rates... Intellectually fair-minded people should be able to debate the pros and cons of alternative monetary approaches without rancor."
