The price of WTI crude oil futures settle the day at $56.54. That was up $0.34 or 0.60%. The high for the day reached $57.43. The low for the day fell to $55.83.
Technically, the high price did extend above its 200 day moving average for the 1st time since early October. That moving average comes in at $57.16. Once again the high price extended to $57.43. However, that break could not be maintained, and the price rotated back between the lower 100 day moving average at $55.86 and the higher 200 day moving average at $57.16.
The buyers and sellers will continue to battle it out for control.
