Dow, S&P and Nasdaq pushing to new record levels

S&P trying to leap above 3000 for the 3rd day in a row

The major US stock indices are opening marginally higherr with each of the indices looking to push for new record levels today.

A snapshot is showing:

• S&P index +3.32 points or 0.11% at 3003.24
• NASDAQ index +12.2 points or 0.15% at 8209
• Dow industrial average +81 points or 0.30% at 27168

It is the 3rd day in a row that the S&P has tried to get and stay above the 3000 level. Each day failed. The close yesterday was just below the 3000 level, but did close at a new record high.

The Dow closed at a recored high yesterday.

For the Nasdaq, the record high coming into today is at 8202.53. We are above that now. The intraday high for the Nasdaq is at 8228.59.
