BOE gov Carney gets his pen ready to write a letter to Osborne as UK CPI data looms
Yes folks we have UK CPI PPI and RPI out at 09.30 GMT
Expectations are
UK DEC inflation data forecasts 13 Jan
If the yy does come in as expected then the BOV gov Carney is obliged to write a letter to fin min Osborne explaining why it’s under the 1% base target/threshold
The pound has come under some pressure on the softer expectations which potentially push back interest rate hikes
Sell rumour buy fact could be the play and I have taken some profit at 1.5125 from my o/n shorts into 1.5200 but will hold a small core short and look to sell rally above 1.5150 ( preferably into 1.5180)
