Dow up nearly 300 points. Tech heavy Nasdaq lags but still higher on the day.
There was some rotation more into the Dow large caps and out of the tech stocks of the Nasdaq. Having said, the Nasdaq was still up a solid 0.54% on the day. It just did not do as good as the 1.21% rise in the Dow.
The closing numbers are showing:
- Dow 30 up 1.21% at 25013.29. The high did reach 25086, but closed above the gapped low at 24883. The index was up around 300 points at the end of the day
- The S&P rose 0.74% or 20 points at 2733.01. The high reached 2739. The low fell to 2725.70. The price remains above its 100 day MA at 2709.19 (see chart below).
- The Nasdaq rose 39.696 points or 0.54% to 7394.035. The high reached 7431.82. The low extended to 7368.20
