We’ll see about that Jacky boy
- All the levers have to be used to boost growth
- US has a strong economy that will stay strong
- US alone won’t be able to drive global economy
- Unfair FX moves draw scrutiny from US
- Lower energy prices are a plus for US economy
- Doesn’t expect US oil production to decline and producers can handle decline in prices
The US Treasury sec is being his usual bullish self and dismissing dollar strength. It’s all a matter of context though. Take the dollar over a very long time vs JPY and we’re not even close to reversing the the fall. Take it in the context of everyday life and big moves hurt certain parts of the economy. Maybe he should take a gander at the recent export numbers.
