The World Cup kicks off on Thursday so we’ve got a ForexLive Cup… well, a mug… up for grabs.
Some say football is the ultimate measure of a country’s prowess, we say its the currency. For this contest you have to choose the best FX trade among the participants at the World Cup.
There are 25 different currencies represented with 7 countries using the euro.
Pick your winner and loser
XAF is Cote D’Ivoire and XOF is Cameroon, but you FX experts already knew that
For Argentina, we’re using the black market spot at DolarBlue.net (at 11.30 on the bid side today). There is an early disqualification from the tournament — the Ghana cedi — because it’s a basket case.
The contest is simple: Pick the best performer and the worst performer and whoever gets the total best percentage move wins. In addition, I’m awarding a 0.5 percentage point bonus if you pick the winner of the tournament.
So an official entry should look like this:
Best: ECS
Worst: AUD
Winner: Colombia
Contest will run from June 13 until the start of US trading on July 14. Deadline: Kickoff on Friday.
Good luck and have fun! One entry per user, put your guesses in the comments.
