More again from John Williams, President of the San Franciso Federal Reserve Bank

  • Makes sense to me to raise rates this year, but will listen to FOMC debate
  • Consumer spending has been stronger than expected; trade data is weaker
  • Don't see signs that global growth has slowed more than expected
  • When Fed raises rates, it should not be the case that no one is expecting it
  • Fed should not be unnecessarily adding to volatility, nor trying to reduce it

Earlier comments are here:

  • Fed's Williams: This will be the most gradual tightening in Fed history
  • More from Fed's Williams: September NFP at 147K still marks labor market progress

There has been very little USD response to any of these comments today.

Some might be thinking we are sick of hearing the same old **** from these guys.

Some might very well be thinking that. I couldn't possibly comment.
