Caixin/Markit services purchasing managers' index (PMI)
- A drop to 52 from 52.1 the previous month
- While the Composite reading came in at 51.4 compared with 51.8 in August
Both in expansion
- Most measures of activity improved
- Most firms reported their business expectations lower than the previous month (previous month was a six-month high)
- Services companies saw modest growth in new work
- Employment moved higher for the first time in three months
- Pace of job creation was described as moderate, but at its fastest since February
