The Reserve Bank of New Zealand monetary policy meeting is this week, announcement due 27 September at 2000GMT

  • Thursday local time
  • The Official Cash Rate is 1.75% and there is no change expected (thats pretty much a unanimous no change expectation)

Here is a really quick preview, this from National Australia Bank (parent bank of Bank of New Zealand):

  • We expect the Reserve Bank to make no changes to its policy rate (1.75%) or policy guidance
  • Overall, things have hardly deviated from the August MPS constructs, as newly appointed Acting Governor Grant Spencer delivers his first OCR review in the likely post-election noise
  • We appreciate that global cogs are now moving in the direction of removing central bank stimulus. But we can't imagine the RBNZ will be willing to join that fray anytime soon.

I'll have more previews as the date approaches, but this NAB preview hits the main points.
