S&P 500 climbs to high of the day
The S&P 500 is up 12.5 points to 2116, ending a streak of three consecutive declines. The rally puts the index to within striking distance of the all-time high of 2119, set last week.
The Nasdaq broke 5000 earlier in the day.
The better risk appetite is putting a bid in USD/JPY, hurting gold and weighing heavily on bonds.
