China is sitting on vast amounts of US Treasuries and is becoming increasingly less willing to add to the pile. Instead, the world’s second largest economy prefers to accelerate diversification by buying European (read German and to a lesser extent French) and Japanese bonds.
This action is having a significant bearish effect on USD/JPY and also means that China is again a net buyer of EUR/USD in the FX markets.
