Obama and Merkel are holding a joint press conference at the White House. Media reports have swirled since Obama took office in January that relations with Merkel are somewhat on the chilly side. Obama, obviously aware of the talk, went into full suck-up mode, talking about how one of his favorite things about Europe is Merkel who is smart, talented, blah,blah,blah.
