US DATA: Q4 Fed Flow of Funds show nonfinl domestic debt +5.1% vs
+4.2% in Q3. Pvt debt +1-1/4% but govt +12-3/4% (incl S&L +7.9% and
Federal +14.6%). Household debt -0.6% to $13.4T as mtgs and consumer
credit fell. Household net worth was $56.8T at end-Q4, up $2.1T from
end-Q3. Tsys buying data show $1.319T net issuance SAAR, of which
foreign took $486b and Fed took $825b, leaving $113.8b for households,
$79b for pensions and $26.3b for life ins cos. Dealers sold $155.3b,
banks sold $32b, and MMFs and GSEs were also net sellers.
