FRANKFURT (MNI) – Germany’s FDP parliamentary leader Rainer
Bruederle opposes any extensions for Greece to meet its bailout terms,
Spiegel Online reported Wednesday.

“Everything else would have an entirely wrong signaling effect and
undermine reform discipline in Europe,” Bruederle told Spiegel.
Bruederle called on Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras “to finally
meet commitments it has made towards the troika.”

Samaras, who is due to visit Berlin on Friday, said in an interview
with the German Bild Zeitung newspaper on Wednesday that Greece would
like additional time to meet its targets.

“Let me be very clear: We are not asking for additional money. We
stick to our commitments and to meeting all requirements [of the bailout
program],” Samaras told the tabloid.
