The Telegraph’s Ambrose Evans-Pritchard points out numerous reasons that the gold standard is a stupid idea and then concedes that it’s a non-started aimed to suck Tea Partyers into the Republican fold.
Some gold bugs – though not ones with historical memory – seem to have greeted Republican talk of a renewed Gold Standard with near ecstatic delight. They need their heads examined.
