US DATA: Factory new orders +0.8% in Oct, much better than expectations
of -0.1%. Durable goods orders were rev up to +0.5% (prev flat),
while nondurables orders +1.1% in the month, led by petro and coal
products. Total factory orders ex. transportation +1.3% in Oct. Mfg
inventories were +0.1%, shipments +0.4% and unfilled orders +0.3%.
Transport factory orders were -2.3% and ex-def new orders were +0.8%.
Nondef capital goods excluding aircraft shipments were -0.1% and
nondef cap goods ex-air orders were +2.9% while defense capital goods
were -7.4%. The inventory-to-shipment ratio held steady at 1.28.
