The Shanghai cityscape has been completely transformed in 26 years. This kind of change took generations in most western cities but the first picture was taken in 1987 and the second one a week ago. I struggle to believe that kind of progress is possible without any kind of unforeseen consequence. On the other hand, I’m in awe.
