Alexandre Tombini, the president of Brazil’s central bank, has cancelled plans to go to Jackson Hole

He gets added to the list of illustrious non-attendees:

  • Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve
  • Mark Carney, governor of the Bank of England
  • Mario Draghi, president of the European Central Bank

Tombini is not attending so he can keep his attention on the tumbling Brazilian currency, the real, which is dropping as taper fears impact on developing markets
