What’s the half-life of your view?

Here’s a question. What’s the half-life of your view?

When you’ve formulated an idea, how long will you hold it for before reassessing it? And I don’t mean reassessing it necessarily because new information has come in, maybe just reassessing it because time has passed?

Similarly, with a position. Maybe your long of XXX/XXX … how long will you hold the position (presumable based on yur view, however you’ve formulated it) before cutting it? Or, do you let it run until either stop or profit has been hit (perhaps adjusting either of these levels as the market moves).
