If the past two months have proved anything, it’s that bad weather is crippling to the American economy. It’s been a tough winter and it’s about to get tougher with snow in the forecast right across the Eastern seaboard. A quick look at selected forecasts.

Snow will mix with and possibly change to sleet and rain late this morning into this evening, before changing back to all snow tonight. The snow will taper off after midnight

  • Boston snow accumulation up to 6 inches

Storm warning until 7 pm. Locally heavy snow changing to rain.

  • Washington 6 to 10 inches. Locally higher amounts around 12 inches are possible

Heavy snow will mix with sleet early this morning. Precipitation will change to a mixture of snow, sleet and rain after 7 am and precipitation rates will become light. Another round of moderate to heavy snow will develop late this afternoon into tonight.

  • Atlanta. Up to 1 inch of snow.

Snow will continue to create extremely hazardous driving conditions through this morning.

The worst news might be that this is the reference week for the February non-farm payrolls report.
