Q1 data is not complete yet says the Spanish finance minister but he expects GDP to come in at the same level as the last quarter. They’ve been pretty good recently of hitting the nail on the head with expectations.

What isn’t good news is that Spanish bad loans remain at historical highs with the latest number showing that the bad loan ratio stood at 13.54% in January. Although that’s down from 13.61% the numbers have been calculated under new methodology. Either way it’s still at record highs and shows there’s plenty still to be done.
