World leaders committed to increasing funding to the IMF in 2010 but the US has been unable to deliver. With the crisis in Ukraine, Democrats attempted to attach the funding to a Ukraine bailout bill but the House split it out today and passed the Ukraine aid separately.
Leaders of other countries, led by Russia, are aiming to strip the US of its IMF veto in retaliation.
