Sorry folks, we seem to have some gremlins in the works and the site is playing up.

Greece released some data just now and it doesn’t make good reading

  • April HICP -1.6% vs -1.4% exp y/y. Prior -1.5%
  • CPI -1.3% vs -1.2% exp. Prior -1.3%
  • March Industrial production -3.1% vs +1.7% prior y/y. The prior was revised to +3.1%, which makes it even more of a stinker

There is one caveat with the IP number in that the fall was caused by an 8.3% fall in electricity production which is usually tied to household heating usage. Obviously the weather’s been good over there. The drop in inflation won’t be missed at ECB HQ either.
