The former PM of Luxembourg, Jean-Claude Junker is being put forward by Spanish PM Mariano Rajoy as the EPP (European People’s Party) candidate in the upcoming EU elections. No surprise he’s on the campaign trail in Madrid and saying that the EU should renegotiate energy deals with Norway and Russia and that they should centralise energy purchasing.
He also says no one should question labour mobility within the EU and that Ukraine should not join NATO.
Rajoy also remarked that Spain has corrected its economic imbalances.
