The Russian foreign ministry has said it will respond in kind to sanction laid on 12 Russians for human rights violations. They say the sanctions are dictated by cynical political goals.
This threat comes after the US slapped sanctions on the Russians yesterday via the US Treasury department but are not connected to the Ukraine situation.
