Alexander Stubb was elected by his party to become Finland’s next prime minister. He said he will continue with the country’s program of budget restraint. Stubb replaces Jyrki Katainen, who is stepping down as PM to concentrate his efforts to gain a top position with the EU; he is thought to perhaps be seeking presidency of the European Commission or the European Council.
