There are plenty of reports that separatists had obtained long-range surface-to-air missiles recently and there’s also talk they’re deleting all evidence of the weapons from their websites and twitter.
For me, there’s a 99% likelihood that rebels did this. It’s their territory and they’re the ones who have been shooting down planes. There’s even evidence that they claimed responsibility, thinking it was a military aircraft.
