The Wall Street Journal highlights 5 things to watch in the US this week (I’d add in a 6th, but its SpongeBob Squarepants on the TV so probably not what they had in mind):

  1. The Jackson Hold central banker talkfest begins Friday … “Given this year’s headline topic, Ms. Yellen may offer up more clues as to what she thinks constitutes a healthy labor market — one strong enough to withstand higher interest rates.”
  2. Housing starts for July on Tuesday: “Miserable weather in the winter and spring hindered the development of buildable lots… Dryer weather is allowing more lots to be prepped for construction below the Mason-Dixon Line… economists expect t… that housing starts rebounded in July.”
  3. National Association of Realtors will report Thursday on July sales of existing homes.
  4. The CPI report on Tuesday
  5. FOMC July 29-30 policy meeting on Wednesday
