Italian hourly wage data for August is out and there’s no inflation signs coming here anytime soon.June was the last time we had a pick up in the rate of 0.1% but the year on year number has fallen since June’s 1.2% to 1.1%.
In the sectors wages are running as follows (y/y)
- Agriculture 1.8%
- Industry 2.2%
- Services 0.8%
- Public administration 0.0%
We’re a long long way off seeing wages rise and that will only come after a big uplift in the economy. We might not see wages rising for another 5 years.
