Eco data along with Bank of Japan (BOJ) speakers are coming up today…

2350GMT

  • September Tertiary Industry index m/m, expected is +0.8%, prior was -0.1%
  • Money Stock M2 for October y/y, expected is +3.0%, prior was +3.0%
  • Money Stock M3 for October y/y, expected is ++2.5%, prior was +2.5%

OK, and from the Bank of Japan …

0000GMT – Ryuzo Miyao, Member of the Policy Board At a meeting with business leaders in Nagasaki. Miyao voted in favour of further easing back on October 31. At 0500GMT Miyao follows up with a press conference. (ADDED – his speech is to be released at 0100GMT)

And then there is this …. which I am a little uncertain about …. Takehiro Sato, Member of the Policy Board At the Japan Society in London. I have this scheduled at 0430GMT, which seems rather early for giving a speech a London. Unless he is speaking at Ryan’s local pub at 4.30am I don’t think he will have much of an audience. Maybe that’s the time of the release of the speech to the BOJ website rather than the time he is actually delivering it. Note, Sato voted against the further easing, so he may be a little obstreperous. (ADDED – Upon further investigation it seems his speech is at 1330GMT, which makes a lot more sense)
