The Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) is Japan’s national public broadcasting organisation. Reporting this morning that Japanese PM Abe and Finance Minister Aso have agreed on the need to delay the next sales tax hike. Bloomberg with the headline.
Aso was a proponent of the hike going ahead as scheduled – he is the guy who has to come up with the cash to keep Japan’s public finances afloat.
But Abe seems to have found a way to persuade him to support the idea of delaying the hike. They have baseball bats in Japan, right?
