1. The current government, led by Samaras holds a razor-thin 155 majority in the 300-seat parliament
  2. A presidential vote will be held in three rounds, the third round is on Dec 29
  3. The government needs 200 votes in the first two rounds (unlikely) or 180 votes in the third (still possible) for a new President
  4. If the vote fails, parliament must be dissolved within 10 days
  5. An election would take place about four weeks after Parliament is dissolved (early Feb)
